Order Description

Purpose:  To develop a working paper that illustrates current research and theory as related to parenting influences during the lifespan.

Format:  Both papers must be submitted in a Word document with 12-point Arial font, double-spacing, and one-inch margins.The final paper should be a minimum of six pages and include all required sections.  Excellent English usage is expected in both papers.

Content:  To meet the purpose of this assignment, students will cite information from the textbook in sections 2 and 3.  No more than two direct quotes can be used in the paper.  Use APA style for your citations and the reference list.  The following sections are required:
1.    Introductionto the paper.  This will provide an overview of the main points of your paper.  (1 – 2 paragraphs, 5 points)

2.    Influences on parenting will provide five current issues that impact parenting.  Interview someone who is a parent and ask them to choose which demographic (i.e., gender, age, education), stress (i.e., internal, normative, chronic), social (i.e., support, neighborhood, religion), economic (i.e., employment, budget, emergencies), andtechnology (i.e., labor- and/or time-saving equipment, age appropriate use, time on devices) influences they consider critical to their parenting decisions. For each issue selected have him/her provide both a potential positive and a potential negativedescription of the impact, and then cite information from the text that supports or refutesthe information given by the person you interviewed. Note:  identify the relationship of the person interviewed to you; if needed, you can use an anonymous name in your paper. (3 – 4 pages, 40 points) ****
Use the 5 following influences:
Demographic- use age ( example:older parent or young parent)
Stress- use internal
Social- use religion ( example:jewish ?)
Economic- use budget
Technology- use time on devices ( example: limiting computer time)
